Timeouts alarm

The Timeouts alarm becomes active when a request to lock an object times out instead of being granted.

Default thresholds are defined so that a Medium severity alarm is raised when one lock timeout occurs. You can adjust thresholds to suit your environment using the Metric Editor.

What you can do

If the number of lock timeouts seems excessive for a database, you can adjust the setting of its LOCKTIMEOUT configuration parameter.
