The Pending Locks component keeps track of the percentage of registered database agents waiting for locks within the DB2 database. The database manager grants a lock to an agent for a specific row or table to prevent the agents assigned to other applications from accessing this same data. Lock waits occur when database agents require locks that are currently held by other applications.
A registered database agent is any agent—both working and idle—currently residing in the database.

At each refresh, Spotlight captures the Agents Pending Locks statistic and displays it for the Pending Locks component. This statistic is the percentage of registered database agents within the database or partition that are waiting on locks. If this percentage is high, an alarm becomes current on this component.
At each refresh the total number of registered database agents currently waiting on locks within the database is captured but not displayed for this component.
Click the Pending Locks component to open the Client Application Analysis drilldown. In the DB2 database or partition you are monitoring, access the Locks tab for details on pending locks.
