Log Max Total Used

The maximum amount of currently active primary and secondary log space (expressed in kilobytes) used so far. This value is captured during the monitoring interval only if circular logging is in effect--that is, if the LOGRETAIN or USEEXIT values are DISABLED and NO, respectively.

Compare this value with the amount of primary log space you have allocated to determine whether the LOGPRIMARY and LOGFILSIZ parameter settings are effective in your environment. Additionally, use this value in conjunction with the Max Sec Log Used and Sec Logs Alloc values to determine your current dependency on secondary logs.

You might need to adjust these database configuration parameters:

  • LOGFILSIZ

  • LOGPRIMARY

  • LOGSECOND

  • LOGRETAIN
