Lock Deadlocks Detected

The number of deadlocks that have occurred. If this number is high, applications can experience contention problems caused by any of these conditions:

  • Lock escalations are occurring in the database

  • An application is locking tables explicitly when system-generated row locks are sufficient

  • An application is using an inappropriate isolation level during the bind process

  • Catalog table are locked for repeatable reads

  • Applications are obtaining identical locks in different orders, resulting in deadlocks
