Spotlight on DB2 6.10 - Release Notes

Pending Locks component

The Pending Locks component keeps track of the percentage of registered database agents waiting for locks within the DB2 database. The database manager grants a lock to an agent for a specific row or table to prevent the agents assigned to other applications from accessing this same data. Lock waits occur when database agents require locks that are currently held by other applications.

A registered database agent is any agent—both working and idle—currently residing in the database.
