The number of times a lookup of table descriptors or authorization information was performed in the catalog cache. The count includes successful and unsuccessful lookups. A lookup is used for the following reasons:
Whenever a table, view, routine, or alias name is processed during the compilation of an SQL statement
Whenever database authorization information is needed
