Index Hit Ratio

The index hit ratio for a buffer pool, shown as a percentage. This value is the ratio of physical index reads to logical index read requests. It is a measure of how much time is spent reading index pages from the buffer pool versus reading them from disk. A higher percentage means more data is being read from the buffer pool. A lower percentage means more data is being read from disk, which in turn means more disk I/O and a greater impact on performance.
