Quest® NetVault® Backup Plug‑in for SnapMirror to Tape 12.2
These release notes provide information about the Quest® NetVault® Backup Plug‑in for SnapMirror to Tape release.

About this release

Quest NetVault Backup (NetVault Backup) Plug‑in for SnapMirror to Tape (Plug‑in for SnapMirror to Tape) provides block-level backups and improved disaster recovery support for data stored on NetApp filers. Working with NetApp SnapMirror technology, the plug-in lets you back up selected volumes or snapshots to tape devices for off-site storage. The GUI gives you a single, centralized console to configure backup and restore policies for all your NetApp filers.

Plug‑in for SnapMirror to Tape 12.2 is a minor release, with enhanced features and functionality.

Enhancements

Added support for NetApp Data ONTAP Release 9.5.

Resolved issues

Corrected an issue in which restores that span tapes failed with the following error: “SMTAPE: Bad block in read stream. vbn = xxxxxxxxxx, max_vbn = xxxxxxxxx”

DNSTP-55 (13506, NTG‑60)

Corrected an issue with NetApp Data ONTAP 8.1.7 Mode filers in which the plug-in restored data correctly, but reported the job status as failed and generated a dump.

DNSTP-64 (13515, NTG‑69)

Corrected an issue that caused a backup job to stop responding when the starting slash was omitted from the backup path.

DNSTP-105 (29586)

Corrected an issue that caused a backup job to stop responding if you used an ndmpd kill command to terminate the NDMP sessions.

DNSTP-106 (29721)

Corrected an issue that caused a backup job to fail if the main volume was selected and any Vservers and volumes were excluded. To omit items from a backup job, clear the corresponding check box. The plug-in then displays an X for the selection item.

DNSTP-130

Corrected an issue in which selecting the Delete Previous Snapshot option or Delete All Previous Snapshots option, or both, with a Block Level Incremental (BLI) backup did not delete previous snapshots.
