In order to assign email alerts to events that have a status or level of Error, Warning or Critical, you must first create a custom view in Windows Event Viewer. You can set up custom views and email alerts for each individual type of status, this scenario will demonstrate how to group Errors, Warnings and Critical status events within one view and one email alert.
The following steps will demonstrate how to set up a custom view in Windows Event Viewer and how to assign a task to this custom log that will email alerts to your specified email.
1.Open Windows Event Viewer.
2.In the right hand pane, select Create Custom View.
3.Set up the custom view to include Event levels of your choosing. Select the view to be determined �By Source� with the �Event sources� set to Metalogix Replicator. Click Ok.
4.Call your filter �Show only Replicator Error, Warning, or Critical events�. Click Ok.
5.With your new Custom View highlighted in the left pane, select Attach a task to this log, found on the right Actions pane.
6.When the Task Creation wizard pops up, call your task �Replicator Error, Warning, Critical�. Click Next.
7.Click Next on the �When an Event is Logged� screen.
8.Select Send an Email as the action for your task. Select Next.
9.Enter the specified information, such as email, subject and text. Click Next.
10.Select �Open the Properties dialog for this task when I click Finish� and then Click Finish to complete the task setup.
