1.Generate a Site Users Report for the source and target sites.
2.Open both user reports in Excel and populate the first column with the source account and copy the new account from the target report and paste that value into the second column.
NOTE: If the account IDs are the same, but the domain is different between the source and target SharePoint, you can add wildcard domain remapping to your existing user mapping file.
3.Save this file (in a .csv format) and load it when copying items, a list or a site to perform this transformation.

In addition to the specified user mapping, all the domain prefixes will be mapped to ACME-WEST during the operation. This function is extremely helpful if you have a large number of users with the same IDs between different source and target domains.

If you you are migrating into or out of 2013 or Office 365 you may see something like the following in your Site Users Report:
i:0#.w|domain/USERNAME or if i:0#.f|membership|USERNAME@domain.com
If so, it's recommended that you put this value in for the source or target in question. It is more precise than using USERNAME@domain.com or domain\USERNAME and will generally yield better results. Wildcard mappings can be used with these values as well, so i:0#.w|domain\USERNAME was your source and if i:0#.f|membership|USERNAME@domain2.com was your target, then your mapping CSV file with a wildcard could look like:
Remember that if your usernames do not match exactly, then a wildcard will not help you and you will have to map the names individually.
If you are creating a user mapping for a "Drive" source like Google Drive or Box, then you simply define the source account as the user's login which is usually their email address.
This report is accessible from the ribbon Reports tab or from the right-click menu on a site. It produces an itemized list of all site and list templates in use within the selected site or site collection. The report is generated in a comma separated values format (.csv).
When moving Sites or Lists there is occasionally a need to change the underlying template for these objects. Some examples of these use cases are moving to a different version of SharePoint where a template may have been deprecated or simply trying to remove custom templates to reduce complexity. The application contains an option to do this in Advanced Option.

NOTE: Reports provide both the template name and the id. For the mapping table, only the id should be entered.
3.For any template that requires a different type in the target site, enter or copy the name of that template to the column on the right.
