Troubleshooting the ControlPoint Application Interface

Recent Change Does Not Show Up in the SharePoint Hierarchy

Issue

During your current ControlPoint session, an action you performed (such as a Delete Site, Set User Permissions, or Add User to Group) isn't reflected in the SharePoint Hierarchy.

Possible Resolution

·Try Refreshing the SharePoint Hierarchy.

OR

·If a site collection has been added or deleted and the ControlPoint Application Administrator has configured the application to load site collections from a server-side cache, you may try refreshing this cache.

"Web Application is Not Configured for ControlPoint"

Issue

A Web application displays in the SharePoint Hierarchy followed by the text "(Web Application is not Configured for ControlPoint)."

Reason

When a Web application is added to a SharePoint farm, the ControlPoint Service Account must be granted Full Control permissions in the Web Application Policy before the Web application can be managed in ControlPoint.

Solution

ControlPoint Application Administrators can run the Configure Web Application(s) or Content DB(s) action, which is accessible from the SharePoint Herarchy farm node.

Site Collections Display as "Inaccessible"

Issue

Site Collections display in the SharePoint Hierarchy followed by the text Inaccessible.

Reason

When a Content Database is added to a Web application, the ControlPoint Service Account must be granted access to it.

Solution

ControlPoint Application Administrators can run the Configure Web Application(s) or Content DB(s) action, which is accessible from the SharePoint Herarchy farm node.
