Discussion Options

Use the Discussion Options tab to specify how you want Metalogix Content Matrix to migrate MediaWiki discussions.

NOTE:  If you are migrating  content from Confluence or WordPress, the Comment Options tab replaces Discussions Options.

To configure Discussion Options:

1.If you want to migrate any discussions from the source to a SharePoint discussion board list with a specified name:

a)Make sure the Migrate discussions to: box is checked.

b)Enter the display name that you want to use for the new Discussion Board that will be created on the target.

2.If you want to overwrite any discussions on the target that use the same Source URL value (or, if a Source URL does not exist, the file name), make sure the Overwrite existing discussions with the same Source URL box is checked.

NOTE: If this option is not selected, any items that already exist on the target with the same Source URL (or, in the absence of a Source URL, the file name) will be skipped.

3.If you want to migrate any discussion comments into the target SharePoint discussion board topic, make sure the Include discussion replies box is checked

4.If you want to prevent Metalogix Content Matrix from migrating any discussion images from being migrated and corrected to the SharePoint target site, make sure the Do not migrate discussion images box is checked.

5.If you want Metalogix Content Matrix to migrate discussion images to a SharePoint Images library:

a)Select the Migrate discussion images to:  radio button.

b)Enter the display name you want to use for the new Images library that will be created on the target.

c)If you want Metalogix Content Matrix to filter out any discussion images that do not share the same hostname as the discussion to which they are connected, check the Only images within same domain as discussion box.

For example, if there is a page with the URL http://hostname/discussion.aspx, and this page has two images, one with http://hostname/discussion1.gif as the URL and the second with http://differenthostname/discussion2.gif as the URL, "page1.gif" will be migrated into the images library, but "page2.gif" will not.  If both images used the same hostname as the page itself, they would both be migrated. If neither images used the same host name as the actual discussion, then neither of the two images would be migrated.
