The following scenario demonstrates the way in which to navigate a mounted backup and restore a site collection. This scenario will use the mounted backup created in the Import and Mount a Backup scenario in this document.
1.In the Management Console, select Granular Restore from the bottom left panel.
2.Select a farm in the left pane and then select Mounted Databases in the left pane.
3.Select the Restore tab on the top right hand pane.
4.In the Backup Sets field, select one of the backup sets for a web application that was mounted in the Import and Mount a Backup scenario of this document.
5.In the Backup Content field, expand the web applications content and select a site collection to restore.
6.In the top right hand panel, select Restore.
7.On the Welcome panel of the wizard, click Next.
8.On the Restore panel, review the objects to restore, then click Next to continue.
9.On the Target panel, specify the target location for where you want your restore to occur (this option is only available when the restore is done out-of-place or to a local folder) Click Next.
10.On the Site Collection Options panel Click Next.
11.On the Site Options panel select Rename Site, and type in "Evaluation Site" as the new site name. Click Next.
12.On the List Options panel, Click Next.
13.On the Permissions panel, Click Next.
14.In the Summary panel, review the restore settings, then click Restore.
1.Go to the Operation Queue tab in the top left hand panel in order to see the progress of the granular restore to the web application you chose to restore the list to.
2.You can view the completed granular restore of the site collection on the Overview tab, found in the top left hand panel.
3.When on the Overview tab, by selecting the completed operation, you can see the in Operation Details pane, found at the bottom of the page, details about the completion of your granular restore.
4.Within a web browser, navigate to the SharePoint web application and site collection to which you restored the newly renamed site "evaluation site", in order to determine that the site now exists on the web application.

This scenario demonstrates the way in which to link to a Content Database. This scenario assumes that your Metalogix Backup for SharePoint environment is connected to at least one SharePoint farm, and has a content database accessible for linking to.
1.In the Metalogix Backup for SharePoint Management Console, in the left pane, click Granular Restore.
2.In the top most panel, select Mount and Link CDB
3.Click Next on the Welcome page.
4.On the Source Type page, select Link to a Content Database as the content database source type. Click Next.
5.On the Content Database panel, click Populate in order to populate the content database drop down list. A pop up will appear notifying you that the list has been populated. Select a content database to link to from this list. Click Next.
6.On the Options panel, name the content database mount "Evaluation Content Database Mount" and give a description of "Evaluation Database Mount". Click Next.
7.On the Target Farm page, select the target farm. Click Next.
8.On the Summary page, click Mount in order to mount the Metalogix Full Farm Backup.
1.Go to the Operation Queue tab in the top left hand panel in order to see the progress of Evaluation Content Database Mount being mounted.
2.You can view the completed mounting of Evaluation Content Database Mount on the Overview tab, found in the top left hand panel.
