In-Place Item Restore

The following scenario demonstrate the way in which to navigate a mounted backup and perform an in-place restore of an item.

To Restore an Item In-Place

1.In the Management Console, select Granular Restore from the bottom left panel.

2.Select a farm in the left pane and then select Mounted Databases in the left pane.

3.Select the Restore tab on the top right hand pane.

4.Under Restore type select In-Place.

5.In the Backup Sets field, select one of the backup sets for a web application that was mounted in the Import and Mount a Backup scenario of this document.

6.In the Backup Content field, expand the web applications content and select a list item or a document to restore.

7.In the top right hand panel, select Restore.

3.On the Welcome panel, click Next.

4.On the Restore panel, review the objects to restore, then click Next to continue.

5.On the Item Options panel. Click Next.

6.On the Permissions panel click Next.

7.On the Summary panel, review the restore settings, then click Restore.

Confirmation

1.Go to the Operation Queue tab in the top left hand panel in order to see the progress of the in-place granular restore to the web application you chose to restore the item to.

2.You can view the completed in-place granular restore of the item on the Overview tab, found in the top left hand panel.

3.When on the Overview tab, by selecting the completed operation, you can see the in Operation Details pane, found at the bottom of the page, details about the completion of your granular in-place restore.

Out-of-Place Item Restore

The following scenario demonstrate the way in which to navigate a mounted backup and perform an out-of-place restore of an item.

Restoring an Item Out-of-Place

1.In the Management Console, select Granular Restore from the bottom left panel.

3.Select the Restore tab on the top right hand pane.

4.Under Restore type select Out-Of-Place.

6.In the Backup Content field, expand the web applications content and select a list item or a document to restore.

Navigate a Mounted Database and Restore a List

The following scenario demonstrates the way in which to navigate a mounted backup and restore a list. This scenario will use the mounted backup created in the Import and Mount a Backup scenario in this document.

1.In the Management Console, select Granular Restore from the bottom left panel.

4.In the Backup Sets field, select one of the backup sets for a web application that was mounted in the Import and Mount a Backup scenario of this document.

8.On the Restore panel, review the objects to restore, then click Next to continue.

9.On the Target panel, specify the target location for where you want your restore to occur (this option is only available when the restore is done out-of-place or to a local folder) Click Next.

10.On the List Options panel select Rename List, and type in "Evaluation List" as the new list name. Click Next.

11.On the Permissions panel, Click Next.

12.In the Summary panel, review the restore settings, then click Restore.

Confirmation

1.Go to the Operation Queue tab in the top left hand panel in order to see the progress of the granular restore to the web application you chose to restore the list to.

2.You can view the completed granular restore of the list on the Overview tab, found in the top left hand panel.

Navigate a Mounted Database and Restore a Folder

The following scenario demonstrates the way in which to navigate a mounted backup and restore a folder. This scenario will use the mounted backup created in the Import and Mount a Backup scenario in this document.

1.In the Management Console, select Granular Restore from the bottom left panel.

4.In the Backup Sets field, select one of the backup sets for a web application that was mounted in the Import and Mount a Backup scenario of this document.
