Specifying the Task Execution Server

Use the Task Execution Server page to specify which task execution server you want to use to run the task. If you installed the MessageStats Server through a custom or distributed installation, you had the option of installing additional task processors on separate servers.

On Task Execution Server page, you can identify the Task Execution Server that houses the task processors. If you have only one Execution Server available, the Server box is read-only.

Scheduling the Task

Use the Scheduling Tasks page to schedule gathering tasks. You can create two types of schedules:

Task Period

Select the time period for the scheduled task. The Now Task Period automatically appears as the default Task Period.

Start Time

Enter the start time for the scheduled task.

End Time

You do not need to set an End Time for the schedule. If you want to set an end time, click the check box to select it.

Start Date

Select a start date for the scheduled task.

The following table describes the other available Task Periods:

Daily

You can set a daily recurrence for the task. By default, the Daily Task Period is configured to perform the gathering task every day. You can change the interval to every two days or at any other appropriate daily period.

1
Select the Start Time and End Time (if applicable).
3
Enter or select a Start Date (if applicable).

Weekly

You can set intervals by days of the week. Using the Weekly period, you can set the following types of schedules: gather every second Tuesday; or gather every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; or any other combination.

1
Select the Start Time and End Time (if applicable.)
4

Monthly

You can set intervals by the days and weeks of the month. Using the Monthly period, you can set the following types of schedules: gather on the first day of each month; gather on the last Friday of March, June, September, and December (each quarter); gather on the fifteenth day of every other month; or any other combination.

1
Select the Start Time and End Time (if applicable).
4
Enter a Start Date.

Enabling Task Logging

Log entries are created during several processes. If you contact Quest Support for assistance, Support might request that you change your logging detail level to help troubleshoot technical issues.

You can use the Task Logging page to set logging at the task level. For more information about task logging, see Enabling Task Logging .

Specifying Credentials for a Task

Using the Task Credential page, you set the Windows security credentials for the task. By default, this page displays the credentials that you defined for the Task Scheduler Service during installation. Credentials are not verified in this wizard.

In the MessageStats Lotus and IBM Notes report pack, task credentials are used only for running and scheduling the task. The account that is used to access the Domino data is the Notes ID file that you specified as the Lotus and IBM Notes credentials.

Ensure that you enter a valid account and password or the gathering tasks will fail. If you changed the Task Execution Server, this page automatically displays the credentials that you specified for that server.
