InTrust DBCleaner Utility Readme

This readme provides information about the DB Cleaner utility shipped with Quest® InTrust®.

Purpose and usage

The DBCleaner command-line utility removes temporary tables created in the database during report generation.

 

Command line syntax is as follows:

DBCleaner[.exe] /p[refix]:PREFIX /u[ser]:TABLE_OWNER [/from:DATE_FROM] [/to:DATE_TO] /c[onnection string]:CONNECTION_STRING

Parameters:

/prefix - prefix of the tables to be deleted (e.g., TEMP_)

/user - table owner

/from - delete tables created after DATE_FROM (YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss)

/to - delete tables created before DATE_TO (YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss)

/connection string - database connection string

 

Database connection string format:

"Provider=provider;Data Source=datasource;Initial Catalog=database;UID=username;PWD=password;"

-OR-

"Provider=provider;Data Source=datasource;Initial Catalog=database;Integrated Security='SSPI'"

Parameters:

Provider - OLEDB provider (‘SQLOLEDB’ for Microsoft SQL Server)

Data Source - database server name

Initial Catalog - database name

UID - user login name

PWD - user password

Integrated Security - should be specified if Windows authentication is used
