Purging existing resources

At times, it may be advantageous to purge the resource list for specific categories. The resource list refers to the list of names for a category that you can access via the Analysis > Resource List menu item. Configuration changes that you have made might result in a significant number of obsolete names cluttering up the resource list for certain categories. Using this capability, you can clear the resource list for an entire category, or remove a single resource that you no longer want to appear in the web console.

This action does not discard any metrics from the database. As new metrics are collected, the resource list repopulates with names reflecting the new metrics. For these resources, the full set of historical data that was collected before the purge is still available in the web console. However, obsolete names that are not generating any new metrics will never again be available in the web console. Consequently, if this historical data is important, this capability should not be used. For more information, see Transforming monitored URLs.

To purge a list of resources or an individual resource, click Purge Resource Names link at the bottom of the Database page, to displays the Purge Resources page.
