Original_collect_data - Metalogix Desktop User Manual

1.Press the ‘Collect Data’ button in the Metalogix Administrator ribbon.  This will load the Collect Data screen.

NOTE: If you already connected Metalogix to this location using the Connect to SharePoint option, you may select the Connection Project from within the Navigator, right click and choose Collect Data.

2.Enter a project name where your Administrator data will reside.

3.Choose the type from the dropdown menu and then enter the appropriate URL

·SharePoint Site:  Choose this option if you wish to collect data from a single site, site collection or OneDrive.  Enter the URL (or copy/paste it from your browser) to this location.

·SharePoint Farm (when licensed): Choose this option if you wish to collect data from multiple site collections within a web application.  Click Connect, enter the URL to your SharePoint Central Administration or your SharePoint Admin Center if you are scanning Office 365 SharePoint Online.  Once connected, select the Web Application and then from the list of available site collections, select those you wish to include.

NOTE: Please note that you will need to be either a Farm Administrator or Global Administrator to use this option.

·OneDrive for Business (when licensed): Choose this option if you wish to collect data from all the currently provisioned OneDrives for Business locations in your Office 365 Tenant.  Enter the URL to your SharePoint Admin Center (https://[YourTenant]-admin.sharepoint.com) and click Connect to authenticate.

NOTE: Please note that you will need to be an Office 365 Global Administrator to continue.

4.To manually enter a second or more locations to the scan, click the “Add Another Location” link and select the desired connection.

5.Enable the option ‘Include Sub-sites’ if you wish to include them in the data collection.

6.To start the process, click Finish.
