Spell Checking (Not Available for Windows 7)

You can use Stat’s spell checker to correct misspellings and typing mistakes in text displayed in the Description and Resolution tabs. Stat reviews each word in the text field of the tab and identifies those that are not in the dictionary file that it is currently based on. If a particular word is identified as a possible misspelling, the spell checker suggests the most likely correction along with other possible corrections.

Copying and Pasting

You can copy and paste text into the Description and Resolution tabs from other applications. However, be aware that pasted text that is large in size or specially formatted (such as tables or text with graphics) may not display properly or may pose memory problems. If you want to add a large amount or specially formatted text to a CSR, consider either inserting a hyperlink or using the Attachments tab.

Creating CSR Templates

You can specify default CSR values by saving a CSR as a template. When you save a CSR as a template, the values displayed in certain fields of that CSR are saved as the default settings for new CSRs created within the same service domain. This can be an effective time-saving technique if many of the CSRs you create within a service domain have the same values. For example, if you work primarily with the Benefits application while in the HR service domain, you could create a template with Benefits as the default value displayed in the Application field of new CSRs.

4	Once the template is stored, you can quickly create new CSRs by clicking on the Open new CSR from Template button in the Stat Toolbar, or navigate to File | New CSR | From Template.

Environment Refresh Events

An environment refresh is the replacement of one environment (target) with a copy of another environment (source), which can be either an existing environment or a backup of an environment. In Stat, you document any environment refresh that you have performed or are planning to perform so Stat reporting properly reflects refresh activities and the state of each environment. This is done in the Environment Refresh tab of the CSR window, which is displayed based on a combination of service domain and CSR type.

When you document an environment refresh event, the Stat Repository is updated to reflect any changes the refresh has made to the definition of the target environment. This is done by specifying the start and complete dates of the refresh event. When the specified completion date has elapsed, a process request is submitted automatically to the Stat Central Agent to update the definition of the target environment in the Stat Repository. Start and completion dates are explained in greater detail below.

NOTE: Although documenting environment refresh events updates the definition of the target environment in the Stat Repository, the history of environment before it was refreshed is retained. This allows you to run an activity-based report on the environment that does not take the refresh event into account. Activity-based reports are explained in greater detail below.
