Server Access Tab

The Server Access tab is where you can restrict a user’s access to file servers when running pre and post migration steps.

To set up server access:

In the unassigned list, select each file server you want to give the user access to.

Click the right-pointing arrow button.

To remove access to a file server, select the server in the assigned list and click the left-pointing arrow button.

Save your changes by clicking either Apply or OK.

Pre/Post Migration User Parameters Tab

Define public user-based parameters that can be included in the definition of post migration command steps. See the Stat User Guide, Appendix C: User-Specific Parameters.

Synchronizing User Access Information

After defining the access settings of one user, you can use that user as the source for synchronizing the access settings of multiple users. This way, if several users share many of the same access settings, you can update their settings simultaneously rather than one at a time.

To synchronize user access information:

In the User Maintenance window, select the user whose access settings you want to use as the source for synchronizing the settings of other users. Then click Sync.
This opens the Synchronize User Access Information window, which displays all the currently defined users in Stat as well as fields corresponding to each access tab in the User Access Information window (except the PS Options and User File Directories tabs, which contain user-specific information).

While holding down the <Shift> or <Ctrl> key, select each user you want to synchronize with the user you selected in step 1.

In each access field, select one of the following three options:
•
Copy/Replace: Replace the users’ access settings with the settings of the sync user
•
Copy/Add: Add the sync user’s access settings to the users’ existing settings. This way, whenever a new application, queue, object type, etc. is added, you can update the access settings of the sync user and then use this option to update multiple users at once.
•
No Action: Do not modify the selected users’ access settings

Click Sync.

User Password Security Settings

In the Other Options tab of the System table, you can define password parameters for all Stat users.

For more information, see System Maintenance . To open the System table, select Maintenance | General | System Table. Then select the Other Options tab.

Password
Lifetime
(Required Value)

The number of days that a user's password is valid before they are required to change it. This setting has no effect if the Password Expire field is not checked. Valid values are 0 to 999.

NOTE: If you set the Password Lifetime value to 0, then the existing password is valid for 24 hours from the time you click OK or Apply.

Lifetime
(Required Value)

The number of days Stat retains users’ password history. This value is used with the Limit Lifetime setting to prevent users from re-using the same password within the number of days indicated in this field. A setting of 0 means that no history is maintained. This setting has no effect if the Limit Lifetime field is not checked.

Minimum Length

The minimum number of characters required in a user account password

Max Failed Login

The maximum number of failed login attempts before the user account is locked out of Stat

Expire

Indicates whether users’ passwords expire after the number of days defined in the Password Lifetime field. If selected, users are prompted to change their passwords at login once they have expired. If blank, passwords never expire.

Limit Lifetime

Indicates whether users can use the same password indefinitely

Set Mandatory Characters

Enables the mandatory character fields for passwords. If this check box is selected, the settings for Upper Number, Lower, and Spec. Char. fields are active.

Upper

Indicates if users must have at least one upper-case character in their password. This setting has no effect if Stat Mandatory Characters is not selected.

Lower

Indicates if users are required to have at least one lower-case character in their password. This setting has no effect if Stat Mandatory Characters is not selected.

Number

Indicates if users must have at least one number in their password. This setting has no effect if Stat Mandatory Characters is deselected.

Spec. Char.

Determines if users must have at least one special character in their password. This setting has no effect if Stat Mandatory Characters is deselected. Special characters include the following:
