Upgrade Process

To upgrade the Foglight for Container Management to the latest version:

  1. Foglight for Container Management will be upgraded if Foglight Evolve or Foglight for Virtualization, Enterprise Edition is upgraded.
  2. Then deploy the new agent cartridge to the FglAM that holds your Container agents, including Kubernetes agents and Docker Swarm agents.
  3. From version 3.0.0, after upgrading the cartridge and agent, new columns (metrics collector related) will be displayed in Container > Kubernetes > Administration Tab > Agents Table. The metric collector type is Heapster for all your Kubernetes agents in this table.
  4. Then if you want to migrate your Heapster metric collector to Prometheus metric collector, click the Migrate button for each agent. A Migrate wizard will be launched. For detailed information, refer to the Administration section in Foglight for Container Management User and Administration Guide.

Note: Kubernetes Agents migrated from Heapster to Prometheus will fail to collect metrics when using Prometheus configured to use Authentication other than Kubernetes Authentication.
