What is the purpose for entering the weblogic password?

What functionality would users lose if not entering the WebLogic password from Maintenance | General | Oracle apps connect?
Resolution
In Oracle 12.2 for example, adop which is the patching utility prompts for the Weblogic Server password. There is no need to enter the WebLogic server password for migrating aol objects.
