Access Violation
Error Message:
Sometimes when I am running the product, I receive this error message:
"Access Violation at address 00000000. of Address 00000000."
This problem is related to the lack of memory in Windows. It is resolved by closing unused applications and by increasing the Windows Virtual memory setting.
Below are instructions for setting Virtual Memory:
Windows 2000
1. From the Windows taskbar, click the Start button.
2. From the Start menu, select Settings.
3. From the Settings menu, select Control Panel.
4. From the Control Panel, double-click on System.
5. In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab.
6. Click on the Performance Options tab.
7. In the Performance Options window, click on the Change button.
8. In the Virtual Memory Window, change the Initial size setting.
9. Click the Set button.
10. Click OK to close Virtual Memory window.
11. Click OK to close Performance Options window.
12. Click OK to close System Properties window.
Windows XP
1. From the Windows taskbar, click the Start button.
2. From the Start menu, select Control Panel.
3. From the Control Panel, double-click on System.
4. In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab.
5. In the Performance section, click on the Settings button.
6. In the Performance Options window, click the Advanced tab
7. In the Virtual memory section, click on the Change button.
8. In the Virtual Memory window, change the Initial size setting.
9. Click the Set button.
10. Click OK to close Virtual Memory window.
11. Click OK to close Performance Options window.
12. Click OK to close System Properties window.
Window 95/98
1. From the Windows taskbar, click the Start button.
2. From the Start menu, select Settings.
3. From the Settings menu, select Control Panel.
4. From the Control Panel, double-click on System.
5. In the System Properties window, click on the Performance tab.
6. Click on the Virtual Memory button.
7. In the Virtual Memory window, select the Let Windows manage my virtual memory setting.
8. Click OK to close Virtual Memory window.
9. Click OK to close System Properties window.
Windows NT
1. From the Windows taskbar, click the Start button.
2. From the Start menu, select Settings.
3. From the Settings menu, select Control Panel.
4. From the Control Panel, double-click on System.
5. In the System Properties window, click on the Performance tab.
