SQL Optimizer gives Access Violation at connection.
RESOLUTION 1:
Reset connection history. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<personal folder>\Application Data\Quest Software\Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle\<version> and rename the directory named after the version of Optimizer you are using. I.e. Optimizer 8.5 will have a folder noted as 8.5.0, rename to 8.5.0_OLD. Then restart Optimizer and test the connection.
RESOLUTION 2:
Reset full Optimizer directory. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<personal folder>\Application Data\Quest Software\Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle and rename the "Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle" folder, i.e. Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle changed to Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle_OLD. Restart Optimizer and test the connection.
Keep in mind doing so may change your settings and configurations back to default.
This may apply to various version of Optimizer for Oracle.
