What are the steps for upgrading the product on this same machine from 8.1 to 10.01 version
· Before you upgrade, please note where is your Diagnostic Server located and download 8.5.1 and 9.2, and 10.01 versions (full install, not client only).
Then..
1) stop the service (Quest Diagnostic Server service under control panel.. services)
2) backup your both databases (Playback and Spotlight Statistics Repository)
3) back up the Agent directory on the Diagnostic Server before beginning the upgrade process. The default location of the Agent directory is: Program Files\Quest Software\Diagnostic Server\Agent
4) run the 8.5.1 installer on your client machine to upgrade client and Diagnostic server
5) connect in Spotlight, verify that everything works (let it run for few minutes)
Repeat steps 2 and 3
4) run the 9.0, 9.1, or 9.2 installer on your client machine to upgrade client and Diagnostic server
5) connect in Spotlight, verify that everything works (let it run for few minutes)
Repeat steps 2 and 3
6) run the 10.01 installer, verify that everything works
7) leave your backed directory and databases for a day or two until you are sure that everything works fine.
