How woud you set up a backup alarm on a database level as opposed to a server level.
The majority of the alarms are keyed alarms and allow for this.
1. Open the Alarms dialog.
2. Select the required alarm on the left hand side - In this case the backup alarms. (do each alarm separately.)
3. Select the "Override the default settings for the alarm....." on the top right hand side.
4. Just below the 3 checkboxes is a Severities panel with the ADD button on the far right. This is where the Key is set. (Backup alarms are Keyed, but in general if the ADD button does not become active when the Override is selected, then that alarm is not Keyed.)
5. Click on the ADD button.
6. The Add Key dialog will pop up. It has one field only - Key value.
7. Select the drop down and then select the database required and click OK to save.
8. The database will appear in the panel below the checkboxes.
9. Make sure this database is selected (highlighted) and then change the threshold information in the panel below it. Repeat for as many databases as required. Each can have different values.
10. Click the OK button on the Alarms dialog to save the changes.
The list of databases in the dropdown will consist of all the databases found on the monitored connections.
You can choose to set the default for the majority of the databases and then use the Keyed values for those that are different.
