Is it possible to disable port 135 and not use it?
The DCOM system works by initiating the Comms on port 135. The target of the DCOM calls then negotiates what ports to use for subsequent communications and establishes these ports. It is possible to configure what ports are negotiated, but unfortunately the initial request on port 135 does not look like it can be altered.
