Description
Does Spotlight support VMware in linked-mode?In an environment, if there are multiple VMware vCenters set up in linked mode. Spotlight only shows VMs specifically for the vCenter server it's connected to. Is there a way for Spotlight to have visibility to all the VMs across the linked vCenter servers instead of only for the one it's connected to? -
Cause
Spotlight does not support VMware in linked-mode. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND:To view all VMs in the vCenters:1. Add all vCenters to the Spotlight connection manager to see all VMs.2. Per monitored connection, go to the properties and select the appropriate vCenter in the virtualization details.NOTE: If the VM migrates to another vCenter, it's, unfortunately, a manual process to update the connection to the new vCenter. Otherwise, a message will appear that the virtual machine doesn't exist.There are no plans for enhancement requests at this time. Please contact customer support if an enhancement request is needed.
