Description
At times Spotlight displays "No Data" in SQL activity at times, since the upgrade from 12.0 to 12.2. Before we consistently have seen data in the SQL Activity drill-downs. -
Cause
Starting in Spotlight 12.1, it's now possible to store SQL in Playback database. When a monitored database generates some extremely long SQL (more than 4000+ lines), the Spotlight client exceeds the size limit of 20 MB and will not display data in the form of "No Data" displayed. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND:Disable the option, "Store SQL text and query plans in playback":1. Go to Configure | Spotlight.2. Un-check the box "Store SQL text and query plans in playback".3. Click OK.NOTE: It's also possible to disable on the connection level by un-checking the option in the connection properties.STATUS:Waiting for a fix in a future release of Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise. -
