The following error occurs in Spotlight when monitoring a SQL Server instance:
"SQL Server performance counters are not available"
Cause

Missing SQL Server performance counters.
Resolution

Spotlight relies on SQL Server performance counters to gather monitoring data. Refer to below Microsoft article on how to resolve SQL Server performance counters:
