Alarm Action error for Deadlock alarms: "Action High Alarms Failed: Error: IOException while sending message; nested exception is"
Description

The following alarm error is received for Alarm Action rule generating emails for Deadlock alarms:
"Action High Alarms Failed: Error: IOException while sending message; nested exception is"
Cause

Error is due the Deadlock email attachment file not found. In some rare condition of Deadlock alarm is cleared automatically, and therefore, Spotlight deletes this file as result. However the Alarm Action rule still fires off hence raising such error due to file not existing.
Resolution

Issue fixed in the latest version of Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise.
