How to define and manage user level access to Spotlight monitored connections?
Use the Manage Access feature to Spotlight Connections of Spotlight 13.0 in order to define and manage access to Spotlight connections per user account.
Users who are members of the Spotlight Diagnostic Administrators group can use this screen to assign Spotlight users access privileges to Spotlight connections. To access this feature, from Spotlight client perform the below steps:
1.Click Configure | Diagnostic Server icon
2.Select ‘Manage access to Spotlight connections’ option
3. Choose a Diagnostic Server name from the Diagnostic Server drop down list
4. From the left-side list, choose a user name from the Spotlight Diagnostic Users or Spotlight Diagnostic Server Read-only Users list*
5. Adjust the access to each connections for the account by sliding the Access slider to On or Off setting.
6. Use the Search field to search for and display a subset of connections.
7. Use ‘Allow All’ or ‘Deny All’ to allow or deny access to the listed connections.
After changes are applied, the next time managed user opens the application, the Spotlight connection tree will reflect the changes.
Additional Notes:
Only users belonging the Diagnostic Server User or Read-only User groups can be managed. If all Spotlight users are currently part of the Spotlight Diagnostic Administrators group, then use Windows Local User and Groups console to migrate users to the Spotlight Diagnostic Users or Read-only Users groups first prior to managing access.
Users belonging to the Spotlight Diagnostic Users and Read-only Users have less permissions throughout the application. See Permissions to Spotlight help page for a full list of permissions per user group.
See Manage Access to Spotlight Connections help document for full details.
