The hyperlinks to configure Spotlight settings or Alarm Actions do nothing when clicked on -
Description
When click any of the hyperlinks on existing or new alarm actions, not happens or pops up. This used to work before, but now even any configuration settings that use a hyperlink to pop open a new window will no longer appear. These links include Alarm Actions and Product License options. -
Cause
Internet Explorer security settings for the Internet is set to High on client machine and/or Diagnostic Server machine. Spotlight uses XML and HTML technology for the alarm/alarm action/scheduling configurations. The alarm pop up in the Overview page is HTML. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND 1:
Set the Internet Explorer security settings for the Internet to Medium-high.1. Log onto the Diagnostic Server box as the user that runs the service.2. Go to Start | Run and type in inetcpl.cpl.
3. Click on the Security Tab. For the Internet section, place level to "Medium-high".
NOTE: Adjust the Internet Explorer Security settings on any client boxes that have the Spotlight client installed.
WORKAROUND 2:
Set Enhanced Security Configuration is disabled1. Open Sever Manager
2. Check the setting under Local Server section
WORKAROUND 3:
Set the "Websites in less privileged web content zone can navigate into this zone" setting to Enabled1. Open Internet Explorer Options2. Go to Security | Internet | Custom level…| Miscellaneous
3. Set "Websites in less privileged web content zone can navigate into this zone" to Enabled
