  After upgrade to 12.3, getting SQL Server Analysis Services 2017 (SSAS 2017) monitoring error: WMI query 'Win32_PerfRawData_MSSQLServerOLAPService_MSAS13Threads' failed : Invalid class. [0x80041010] [Error Code: -2147217392.]

• Description

  After upgrading to Spotlight 12.3, SSAS 2017 monitoring immediately showed the following type of error:

     "WMI query 'Win32_PerfRawData_MSSQLServerOLAPService_MSAS13Threads' failed : Invalid class. [0x80041010] [Error Code: -2147217392.]"

• Resolution

  SSAS 2017 has a performance counter defect as stated by the following Microsoft link:

     https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/4056328/performance-counters-are-missing-after-the-installation-of-ssas-2017 

  This SSAS 2017 issue is addressed with Microsoft SQL Server Cumulative Patch 3 (CU3). Spotlight 12.3 has been correct to reflect the fix from Microsoft and hence results in SSAS 2017 that are "not" patched with CU3 to display the Win32 error. As the issue pertains to SQL Server itself, please make sure your SQL Server is patched with at least CU3.
