Spotlight Wait Events and Workload Analysis shows the batch SQL instead of individual SQL statement.
Description
Since upgrading from 11.6 to 11.7 the Wait Events drilldown shows less statements and reported statements are different.
Or certain wait categories show no SQL at all
Cause
The difference is that 11.7 is showing the SQL of the batch while the 11.6 is showing the SQL of the statement within the batch. The data is aggregated based on the SQL (and some other dimensions) which is why there are a different number of statements shown. Because showing the batch SQL is not as helpful when trying to pin down a problem in SQL.
Resolution
Issue fixed in the current release of Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise. Latest version of Spotlight can be downloaded from here.
