Upon connecting, the following error occurs:
Datasource error in connection "< >": MDA tables are not installed. Connection will terminate
Installmontables script hasn't been run.
The MDA tables must be created in the Sybase DB.
Use ISQL to check for the existence of the MDA tables.
1. select * from master..monState
2. go
If nothing comes back from the query then the required Sybase scripts that create the MDA tables have not been run.
a. : Upgrade to Adaptive Server version12.5.0.3 is not complete (12.5.0.3 issue only). Once a user has upgraded an Adaptive Server there are 2 scripts that need to be run: installmaster (instmstr on NT) and installmontables. We have come across users who have not run these Sybase scripts. Without these scripts the underlying tables for the MDA API will not exists.
b. Validate: From within ISQL have the user run 'select * from master..monState'. If they get an error message that the table is not found that means that the installmontables script has not been run. They can run the script using the ISQL utility: 'isql -Usa -Ppassword -i $SYBASE/ASE-12_5/scripts/installmontables'
If you receive the following error during the running of the installmontables script:
Msg 7218, Level 16, State 3:
Server '<servername>', Line 1:
Site 'loopback' not found in sysservers.
Msg 208, Level 16, State 2:
Server '<servername>', Line 1:
monTables not found. Specify owner.objectname or use sp_help to check
whether
the object exists (sp_help may produce lots of output).
Msg 7218, Level 16, State 3:
Server '<Servername>', Line 1:
Site 'loopback' not found in sysservers.
You need to add the server as a loopback server:
sp_addserver loopback,NULL,@@servername
where @@servername has a valid value
