Error: "ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17099]" after Spotlight connection. (4283508)

When a Spotlight connection is initialed, everything appears to be fine. But nothing can be achieved or done, it hangs and the Task Manager will have to be

applied.

At the same time the database gets the following error as shown below:

"ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17099], [], [], [], [], [], [], []"
"ORA-21779: duration not active"

No connection to the database is possible and the database is configured to use MTS (Microsoft Transaction Server).

Oracle bug 5284862.

WORKAROUND:

Use a dedicated connection.

Contact Oracle and download Oracle 9.2.0.8 patch 5 or higher.

This should help resolve the issue.
