Description
User launched Spotlight on DB2 and got error: There are no standard characters installed on this system
After clicking on OK button, it continues working fine. -
Resolution
Needed to turn off the Spotlight Assistant using the development mode:
- Right-click on the Spotlight shortcut
- Select the Properties option
- On the Shortcut tab, in the Target field add the following after the double quotes
<space>/developer:2
- Launch Spotlight using this updated shortcut
- Go to the Help -> About Spotlight
- Click on the Spotlight modules tab (Spotlight Console)
- Right-click on the Spotlight Assistant
- Unselect the Load on Startup option
- Right-click on the Spotlight Assistant once again
- Click on the Uninstall option
To set the shortcut back to its original mode:
- Right-click on the Spotlight shortcut
- Select the Properties option
- On the Shortcut tab, in the Target field remove the <space>/developer:2 that was added in a previous step
User will need to do this again if a new version of Spotlight on DB2 to be installed.
