After upgrading to 6.0.1 or installing a new 6.0.1 environment poster can exit with the following error messages in the event_log:
06/23/08 19:00 Error: process sp_opst_mt killed due to SIGSEGV [sp_cop/16167]
06/23/08 19:00 Notice: process sp_opst_mt killed due to SIGSEGV; (core file = /oracle/var/dump/core.16884) [sp_cop/16167]
After restarting post will continue to work but eventually fail again.
You see the following entries in the core.out file:

The important information to look for is: "StRoutine", "SessStatsAfter" and "strncpy". All these together point to an issue with the statistics module.
Some of the statistics gathered for poster information get corrupted. No customer data is harmed but because of the corrupted statistics poster exits with SIGSEGV
Workaround: Restart post.
