Do customized conflict resolution routines in a peer-to-peer environment (active-active replication) require any change during the upgrade from one Shareplex version to a higher one?
General information.
Normally the conflict resolution routines need not be changed with Shareplex upgrade. Very rarely if there is a change in the parameters that need to be passed to these routines, and if it requires the routines to be modified, it is generally documented in Release Notes. In the event that it is not, the conflict resolution will error out and at that point such anomaly is detected and may need corrective action. The error will occur in the event log and the Post process will complain about problems, if any, with conflict resolution. Support can be contacted for a second opinion.
It needs to be re-iterated that the conflict resolution routines are not debugged by Support and fall in the realm of Professional Services of Quest. However, any error associated with them because of the upgrade will certainly be looked into by Support with an intent to resolve it if it occurred because of any change due to the upgrade of Shareplex.
