Why do I only see one binary for a SharePlex version on Windows even though that version usually supports multiple SharePlex and Oracle version combination as well as SQL Server.
The Windows binary for a given SharePlex version always comes in compiled form for all applicable Oracle and SQL Server versions on source. In addition, it also works for Open Target, namely SQL Server on Windows. The binary contains program code that will handle all allowable Oracle and SQL Server version(s) for that SharePlex version in question. Which means that there are no separate builds for different Oracle versions. For example, the following description shows that binary for SharePlex 9.2 for Windows is compiled for the following Oracle and SQL server versions:
SharePlex 9.2 or Windows 2008, 2012, 2012R2 (Oracle 11g to 12c and SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016)
This is different from Unix Operating System binaries which are compiled separately for each OS and Oracle version combination. For example, SharePlex 9.2 has two separate binaries for the AIX and Oracle combo:
SharePlex for Oracle 9.2 for AIX 7.1 and 7.2 running Oracle 12c (64-Bit) 11/12/2018
SharePlex for Oracle 9.2 for AIX 7.1 running Oracle 11g (64-Bit) 11/12/2018
Likewise SharePlex 9.2 has different binaries for other OS and Oracle combination.
