Description
The following errors are observed when running a compare/repair (the error below is for compare):
sp_ctrl (alvsupl17:9141)> compare paul9141.table1

No active configuration exists
A datasource must be specified

Cause
There is no active config emanating from that server, most likely due to the command being issued from target sp_ctrl. -
Resolution
If the command has been issued from target sp_ctrl OR if there is no active config in place at this time, then correct the problem by:
Issuing the compare/repair from the source and not the target
OR
Activate a config so that compare or repair can be run for a table
