Compare results in error “Target is ODBC connection to a database”
Description

The following errors are observed when running compare or repair on a non Oracle target:
sp_ctrl>compare owner.source_table_name
Cannot compare “owner”.”source_table_name”
Target is ODBC connection to a database
Cause

Compare or Repair is not supported for heterogeneous environment as of now.
Resolution

At the time of creation of this article which happens to be May 2017, SharePlex does not support running compare or repair on a non-Oracle target. This will change in future.
