Description

When trying to grant folder permissions and add a group or user from other domain, the following error displays "Please ensure you have selected a valid user.'
Resolution

WORKAROUND 1
Please Contact Support to obtain the latest hot-fix update.

WORKAROUND 2
Add DNS-Suffix into TCP/IP settings OR into GPO Policy. Example: “DomainName.local”
Change GPO Policy:
“Default Domain Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Policies -> Administrative Templates -> Network -> DNS Client -> DNS Suffix Search List”

Adapter Settings:
For correct resolving (DC) Domain Controllers in other domains: Domain Controllers and Computers with Security Explorer must be in same subnet or DNS-Suffix must be added into TCP/IP Settings:
