This article will show how to find the link and configure Link Updater. Please make sure the below prerequisite are met before updating the link information
- Microsoft Office must be installed on the machine where the Link Updater tool is running
- You must be logged on with an account which has administrative rights since you need to access to the files.
In this example an image is embedded in a word document located in \\SL-BO-48TM3X1\d$\VMShare\Docs, (figure A).
To discover the path of the image right click on the embedded image and select “Package shell Object Object” > “Rename Package”, (figure B).
The command line field should show the current path to be updated.
Scan Path:
This is the location of the documents with the embedded objects, in this example the Word document is in the path “\\SL-BO-48TM3X1\d$\VMShare\Docs\”

Target Path:
This is the new location where the embedded objects are located; in this example the image is now located in the path “\\bocfpsw01.prod.quest.corp\Data\Scans\Images”
