If you try to manually create a task in Windows Task Scheduler, with the options 'Run whether user is logged in or not' and ' Run with highest privileges' enabled, you get an error that the credentials cannot be stored or "A specified logon session does not exist. It may have already been terminated.."
WORKAROUND #1:
Disable the policy setting "Network Access: Do not allow storage of passwords and credentials for network authentication" using the below steps:
- Open the Local Security Policy on the RMAD server by running secpol.msc from the command line
- Expand Security Settings | Local Policies | Security Options
- Disable the following policy:
- Network access: Do not allow storage of credentials or .NET Passports for network authentication (Windows 2008)
OR
- Network access: Do not allow storage of passwords and credentials for network authentication (Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012).
WORKAROUND #2:
Scheduled a task using the SYSTEM Account:
- On the selected collection right click and go to Properties | Agent Settings
- Enable "Use the following account to access Backup Agent and backup files"
- Enter the user account
- Launch the Windows Task Scheduler
- Select the task for the selected collection
- Right click and go to Properties
- Click the drop down next to 'Configure for' and select 'Windows Vists, Windows Server 2008'
- Change the User account to SYSTEM
- Save the changes
It will be required to disable the security policy from above in order to complete this workaround, after the task is created the security policy can be enabled
