Error received when upgrading from version 7.1 to 7.7: "The destination database is incompatible (4277204)

While upgrading from 7.1 to 7.7 the database is not upgraded properly. When trying the solution https://support.quest.com/SUPPORT/index?page=solution&id=SOL21342 the following error might occur:

"The destination database is incompatible with back-up DB import"

If this error received then a two-step upgrade needs to be done.  If preferred, the database could be upgraded in a lab environment then copied over to the production environment after it has been successfully upgraded.

- Install version 7.1
- Replace the default database with a backup of the production database
- Upgrade to version 7.5
- Upgrade to version 7.7
- After the database have been upgraded copy it back to the production environment
