Cannot upgrade or uninstall Backup Agent - Error applying transforms -
Description
When attempting to uninstall the software via Control Panel > Programs and Features, you receive the following error:
"Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid" -
Resolution
Open registry editor, navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products.
Right-click "products" and select "Find" to open a search window.
Search for "Backup Agent", check off "Keys", "Values" and "Data", it should find the key, and there will be a value with the ProductName of "Quest Backup Agent for Active Directory".
Right-click the value labelled "Transforms" and delete this key.
Try uninstalling the product again.
