If a user password is changed, how can RMAD restore the password back to what is stored in the backup?
Resolution
Open the RMAD Console
Start the Online Restore Wizard
Step through the wizard, selecting the backup, unchecking 'Use agentless method' and selecting the user object until you get to the Processing Options page
Under Attribute-level processing select Process selected attributes and click the Select Attributes button
If you want to restore all Password data, select Password Information from the list at the top
If you want to restore just the password, select Show all possible attributes
Select the following attributes: - lmPwdHistory
- ntPwdHistory
- supplementalCredentials
- unicodePwd
- pwdLastSet
Click OK
Complete the rest of the Online Restore Wizard to restore the objects password
Note: An Agent based restore has to be performed to restore the password of an object.
