After an upgrade from 7.1.x to 7.5.x you may receive an error message similar to this:
"Your configuration database is incompatible with this version of the product"
Database was not properly upgraded by setup program.
To resolve this issue upgrade the databases with DBImport.exe tool and BackupDBImport.exe tools. These two files are located in the Program Files\Quest Software\Recovery Manager for AD\ directory.
Usage:
DBImport.exe <source> <target>
where
<source> is the source filename, by default located Documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\Quest Software\RMAD\ErdiskAD.mdb
<target> target filename, can be the same as above
This is an example command line:
"c:\Program Files\Quest Software\Recovery Manager for Active Directory\DBImport.exe" "Documents and settings\All Users.Winnt\Application Data\Quest Software\RMAD\ErdiskAD.mdb" "Documents and settings\All Users.Winnt\Application Data\Quest Software\RMAD\ErdiskAD.mdb"
Similarly with BackupDBImport.exe file
Usage
BackupDBImport.exe <source> <target>
Where
<source> is the backups.mdb file located in the same directory as above
<tardger> is the target filename, can be the same as above.
Example command line:
"c:\Program Files\Quest Software\Recovery Manager for Active Directory\BackupDBImport.exe" "Documents and settings\All Users.Winnt\Application Data\Quest Software\RMAD\backups.mdb" "Documents and settings\All Users.Winnt\Application Data\Quest Software\RMAD\backups.mdb"
If you have upgraded from v7.6 - v7.7 and performed the steps above, but still receive the error, please follow the below steps. PLEASE BE AWARE YOU WILL LOSE ALL SETTINGS AND EFFECTIVELY START WITH A NEW INSTALL OF RMAD
1) Uninstall RMAD 7.7 from the problem server via Add/Remove Programs
2) Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Quest Software\RMAD and rename this Directory
3) Reinstall RMAD 7.7
4) Create a collection for 1 DC and check that this Backup runs successfully, then setup the other collections
